Travel the Three Valleys of Umbria by motorbike, linking Spoleto to Arquata del Tronto through the Valnerina. This adventure is about more than discovering enchanting landscapes; it's also about supporting local people recovering from the ravages of earthquakes.
Your journey begins in Spoleto, an ancient Lombard capital steeped in history and art. Explore the majestic Rocca Albornoziana, cross the breathtaking Ponte delle Torri, visit the Roman theatre, Palazzo Mauri, the church of Sant'Ansano, the Arch of Drusus and Germanico, and Palazzo Leti Sensi. Don't miss the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Roman House.
Then, heading east on the SS395, reach Vallo di Nera with its picturesque bends and panoramic viewpoints. Then, on the SS685, discover Cerreto di Spoleto, an ancient medieval castle and the "Land of the Charlatans". The town is famous for its black truffles and is home to the monastery of San Giacomo and the Renaissance church of S. Maria De Libera.
Continue on to Norcia, a town still undergoing reconstruction after the earthquake. Admire the Piazza San Benedetto and monuments such as the Basilica of San Benedetto and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Argentea, although some parts are not yet accessible.
