Touring Liguria by motorcycle is a unique experience, combining mountainous landscapes, picturesque villages, fine dining and winding roads. Our adventure took us from the Cinque Terre to the Baia del Silenzio, passing through Levanto, a charming seaside village with a rich medieval heritage located near Monterosso. The road to Levanto is dotted with flowing bends, offering magnificent views of the sea and mountains, including Monte Mongioie and Pizzo d'Ormeda. After Levanto, the road turns into a veritable motorcycle theme park, with the SS1 Aurelia winding its way to Genoa, punctuated by exhilarating curves and breathtaking panoramas of the sea. The route is also marked by an artistic bronze fountain, a tribute to cyclists Gino Bartali and Fausto Coppi, fed by a natural spring.Arriving in Sestri Levante, known as the Town of the Two Seas, you discover a place steeped in history and culture, having inspired poets and writers. The Baia delle Favole and the Baia del Silenzio, the latter one of Italy's most popular beaches, offer enchanting scenery. The historic center of Sestri Levante is packed with historic buildings and places of worship dating from the Middle Ages to the modern era, testifying to the cultural richness of the region. Baie du Silence, in particular, with its crystal-clear waters and fine sand, continues to seduce and inspire, as it did during the Grand Tour of the 19th century for the likes of Hans Christian Andersen and Richard Wagner.
